Mr Lambert is an absolute gentleman. He went to great lengths to re-assure me that my problem would be sorted. He thanked me many times for choosing to see him. Explained everything very clearly. I have absolute faith in him.

I find Mr Lambert an exceptional surgeon whom I trust implicitly. He explain your situation clearly and gently. I have no suggestion as to how he can improve as he already provides such a high excellent service.

Simon is a senior upper limb consultant surgeon colleague whose opinion I regard very highly. I have referred complex cases to him in both North and central London for both sporting and non-sporting injury. The feedback from patients has also been excellent. His thoughtful and comprehensive approach to managing the complex shoulder and elbow is evident for all to see.

I found Mr Lambert to be most helpful with his advice and explanations, attentive and caring. He was very reassuring as to my forthcoming treatment programme and I am grateful to have been recommended to see him. I trust his judgment implicitly as does my son who accompanied me.

I have previously left a review for Mr Lambert but felt it was only right to return post operatively to reiterate what a wonderful doctor, person and skilled surgeon he is. I have told Mr Lambert that I cannot find the words to express my gratitude to him and I worry too that a review could not quite convey what he has done for me. As a patient, I had been through a harrowing medical experience that had left me with a disabled shoulder and a complete loss of faith in the medical profession. I had lost all hope in ever being heard, and any getting help for my complex shoulder issues. I had been let down by two previous surgeons and left with complex surgical injuries. I think many may have turned me away. I am 3 months post op, I am living my daily life without pain ruling my day and I can smile for the first time in 2 years. He is clearly very skilled surgically, my shoulder is working again it is quite unbelievable the progress I am making already. I have hope of a future and feel safe as I know he truly has my best interests. He is a credit to his profession and it has been a privilege to be his patient despite the circumstances that led me to him. I will never forget what he has done for me.

Profile

I am a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon with a special interest in the shoulder and elbow. I also hold an honorary academic appointment within University College London. Having worked at the Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital (RNOH), a specialist orthopaedic hospital, where I created a research-active, educationally-acclaimed, science-based service, integrated with and recognising the extreme importance of expert rehabilitation, I have now moved to University College London Hospital. We enjoy a national reputation for clinical excellence and clinical research, which I fully expect to contribute to over the next decade. We value our national and international collaborations, and expect to develop these further with the evolution of the service. As a component of this effort my work with the AO has offered opportunities to younger colleagues while bringing the values of the AO to a wide variety of surgeons and therapists. Truly international collaboration and exchange of ideas clearly enhances and promotes the efficacy of patient-directed care and forms the basis for the motivation behind my development of the shoulder and elbow service at UCLH.
